TAILPIPE ISSUES

It is highly recommended that vehicles with tailpipe issues be repaired. High emitting vehicles produce excess hydrocarbon and/or carbon monoxide emissions which contribute to the formation of harmful ground-level ozone pollution. You may be eligible for up to $715 of emissions-related repairs. Please call to confirm eligibility and to receive an official confirmation number.

EVAPORATIVE ISSUES

If you received a letter from the State of Colorado, please follow the steps above.  If eligible for repair assistance, you may also qualify for a free rental car while your vehicle is being repaired.

Vehicles with excess evaporative emissions could be the result of a fuel vapor/liquid leak.  Vehicles with these types of issues are:

  • A serious source of harmful emissions
  • A serious fire hazard
  • It is costing you money

SMOKING VEHICLES

If your vehicle has been identified as a smoking vehicle in a letter from the State of Colorado, multiple reports have been received about this vehicle at the State's Smoking Vehicle hotline. Some identified vehicles may have internal engine damage which could be costing you money.  Elimination of excessive smoke is important because motor vehicle emissions are a major source of air pollution in Colorado. Follow the "Call, Test, Repair" steps above to verify program eligibility.
